A busy nursing home staff is a bad sign

It's easy to imagine that a nursing home staff that appears busy is a good sign. They're working hard and trying to meet everyone's needs. Isn't that what you want?

The reality, though, is that a staff that appears very busy may actually just not have enough workers on at the same time. They look so busy because they are understaffed and they're rushing to get everything done.

In some cases, all you need to look for is a staff that goes beyond being busy and productive. They may appear nearly frantic as they rush around the facility. They may act like they have no time to talk to you or answer your questions. The whole place may appear very chaotic. There's a reason for that, and it's not good.

The issue, of course, is that your loved one can get neglected. This isn't necessarily the fault of the staff members. They are rushing because they're trying not to neglect anyone. They're trying to get the job done. They just don't have enough people to do it, though, and they can't meet everyone's needs.

In a case like this, the fault lies with the owner of the nursing home, who needs to hire more workers to ensure that residents get adequate care. They may not be doing so because they're trying to save on operating expenses, but it is clear that they are taking that mindset a few steps too far.

If your loved one does get neglected and suffers harm, you need to know what legal options you have at your disposal.
