New York City is offering an amnesty program and is reducing penalties and interest for many violations issued by the New York City Department of Buildings, New York City Department of Sanitation, Department of Transportation, Fire Department and various other city agencies. The violations must be in judgment, which means that New York City has filed a public record of the liability for the entire amount due, plus additional interest.

The Program began on September 12, 2016 and ends December 12, 2016. Additional information can be found by visiting nyc.gov/forgivingfines
