Section 240 of the Labor Law

Section 240 of the Labor Law governs the use of scaffolding at constructions sites. Any time scaffolds and ladders are used there is increased danger of falls and the hight-related injures that occur. New York has strict regulations of scaffolding and if you have been injured on or around a scaffold or ladder on a job site, you need to speak with an experienced construction accident lawyer. There is a large body of law that has developed over the years around this section and you need a lawyer who understands the nuances of this case law and how the judges of New York interpret the statue.

Falls

Many construction accident cases involve the victim of a fall. Whether you have fallen off of a ladder, scaffolding or other equipment that is elevated, an attorney at our firm can assess your case and determine the course of action that will have the strongest likelihood of resulting in a successful recover.

Most construction accident cases involve strict liability. This means that when certain conditions are met, any violation results in liability for the party committing the violation. By discussing your individual situation with a member of our legal team, we can advise you of the potential for your case.

Contact a lawyer at Pearlman, Apat, Futterman, Sirotkin & Seinfeld, LLP today. Though our office does not directly handle workers' compensation matters, we can handle your construction accident case and refer you to an experienced workers' compensation attorney when necessary.
